Visiting a church for the first time can feel like a big step. We want to make it an easy one. Bakersfield Southside is a church family — which means whoever you are and wherever you are on your journey with God, you’ll be welcomed like family. No dress code to decode, no questions you’re expected to know the answers to. Just come.
When We Gather
Saturdays (we worship on the Bible Sabbath — Saturday)
- 9:30 am — Sabbath School (Bible study and discussion in small groups, for every age)
- 11:00 am — Worship Service (music, prayer, and a Bible-based message)
Most visitors come for the 11 am worship service first. If you love digging into Scripture, come at 9:30 and you’ll be glad you did.
What to Expect
When you arrive, a greeter will welcome you and help you find a seat — sit anywhere you like. Our worship includes congregational singing, prayer, and preaching straight from the Bible. Afterward, don’t rush off — folks will want to meet you.
What should I wear?
Come as you are. You’ll see everything from Sabbath best to casual, and you’ll fit right in either way. God is looking at your heart, and so are we.
What about my kids?
We love children at Southside. Kids are welcome in the worship service, and Sabbath School at 9:30 has age-appropriate classes where they’ll learn the Bible at their level. Just let one of our greeters know when you arrive and they’ll point your family in the right direction.
Where do I park?
Street parking is available along 3rd St and the surrounding area. Look for the church sign at 1330 3rd St — our greeters will be out front to welcome you.
